Salado is known for it’s small town, country like feel, but this photographer loves Salado due to all the unique settings it has for a photography shoot. This particular shoot was held during the Christmas in October weekend AND while a race was going on. Thankfully, all of that was taking place within the front portion of the park, so we used the back portion which yielded us several different types of “backdrops” to work with, including a creek. We did save the creek for last (well second to last) portion of the session.
This picture was taken just up from the creek and although you can’t see it in this picture, there is a beautiful rock formation and pavilion just on the other side of the creek that makes for a great backdrop. The rock formation and pavilion are located on private property so you can’t go up to it, but boy was it beautiful.
